Lava death field! It was about this time that we passed a military base and
the road got really nice again. It was 4 lanes and super smooth for all of
10 miles in the middle of nowhere. As we sped along, there was a small sign
that came out of nowhere saying "pavement ends." I guess putting
a 70 mile an hour freeway in the middle of nowhere and abruptly turning it
into a dirt road is a part of "Aloha" that we hadn't been informed
of.
